Selling your home
A pricing strategy rooted in current Queens market data, photography that does the porch justice, and a marketing reach across South Asian and English-language channels most agents never touch.

Top listing agent. CUNY adjunct. Appointed by the Governor. I help families across Queens, Nassau & Long Island find the kitchen, the stoop they’ll grow into — in five languages, with the patience of someone who has spent her life listening.
“Buying a home is the largest decision most families make. I treat every client like family, because that’s how it was done where I grew up.”
Before real estate, there was a small NGO in Dhaka with a stubborn idea: that Dalit children and city-cleaner families — the so-called untouchables — deserved every page of every book the rest of the city was reading. Adan ran it. Her subject was child development; her instrument was education. She holds an M.Phil. in Public Administration and a Master’s in Development Studies from the University of Dhaka and BRAC University, with research on rights-based approaches to disability.
She arrived in the United States in July 2016 with two children, one of whom is autistic. The first years were interpretation work in legal, healthcare and social settings. By 2020 she was teaching Environmental Health Science at York College, CUNY, as adjunct faculty. When the pandemic shut the lecture halls, she pivoted to real estate — and discovered the work was advocacy by another name.
Within a year of joining EXIT Realty in late 2021 she was among the top producers in the company. By 2023 she was the top listing agent at EXIT Realty Prime and a Bronze Award winner. In June 2024, Governor Kathy Hochul appointed her to the New York State Council on Developmental Disabilities— the only South Asian member. Days later, Assemblywoman Alicia Hyndman honored her with a New York State Assembly Citation as one of the community’s “Sheroes.”
Today she balances a full-time real estate practice with adjunct teaching at York College, leadership roles at ASAAL, ASHO, SAARA, ABARNY and LIBOR, and the unglamorous, essential work of helping immigrant families and voucher tenants find a door of their own to close behind them.
Five languages, one kitchen table. The contract is the same in every language; the comfort of reading it isn’t.

For first-time buyers and multi-generational families. Pre-approval guidance, school-district maps, accessibility considerations, and a translator who happens to also be your agent.
New to New York, or new to this neighborhood. Rentals across Queens and Long Island, board package help, and the unglamorous paperwork done correctly the first time.
Two pieces of paper that matter. In June 2024, Governor Kathy Hochul appointed Adan to the New York State Council on Developmental Disabilities. A week later, Assemblywoman Alicia Hyndman issued a New York State Citation honoring her as one of the community’s “Sheroes.”

Adan advocates for domestic-violence awareness, supports families of children with autism, and contributes to disability policy at the state level. Real estate is one room in a much larger house.
Adan Islam helped us buy our first home. She showed us several places before we settled on the one that really worked for us. The process was very smooth. During the middle of the contract signing we had to go out of the country but the process continued and we could review and sign documents electronically. From seller to lender to attorney to inspector to insurance she had us navigated through the complex process of buying a home. When I hear others talk about how frustrating it is to try to buy a house, I get quietly embarrassed because for us it was a breeze. That’s all thanks to Adan.
I had the pleasure of working with Adan Islam while purchasing my new home, and I can’t speak highly enough of their exceptional service. What truly set Adan Islam apart was their proactive communication approach and unwavering dedication to ensuring that I found the perfect home. They were always available to answer my questions, provide valuable insights, and guide me through each step of the home-buying process. Their negotiation skills were impressive, and I felt confident knowing they represented my best interests.
I have had many deals with real estate agents over last 30 years, none can came close to Adan Islam. Adan is very intelligent, straightforward, polite, respectful, well mannered, and has tremendous patience in dealing with her customers. Those who make both parties satisfied in one transaction, Adan is on the top. I wish Adan good health and success in all her future endeavors. May God bless her!
We recently purchased our beautiful 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo in Jackson Heights and we had a wonderful experience working with Adan Islam from EXIT Realty Prime. She was professional, patient, and guided us through every step of the process, making everything smooth and stress-free. We are very grateful for her support and highly recommend her to anyone looking to buy or sell a home. Thank you, Adan, for helping us find our perfect home!
No commitment, no quick pitch. Tell me a little about what you’re thinking and I’ll call back — usually the same day.
